We did a little celebrating for our country's birthday over the weekend at Lake Mead! Our lake at home gets a little "wild and crazy," on holidays, so that's when we like to hit the road. Mead was an absolutely beautiful lake and just what we were looking for . . . peace and quiet (OK well except for when Rob decided we should check out where the Colorado River enters the lake and "explore" doing our own version of white water rafting in our ski boat (but the kids found it to be FUN and I guess that's all that mattered!!). We went with the Roose Family and their kids were so great with RJ . . . they helped him build his first real sandcastle (sure he has the sandbox at home, but this was the real thing with the water right there, wet sand, dry sand and the whole thing). He had SO much fun with them and SO much fun boating, even though it was 100 degrees (hey it was cold there considering it was 115 at home in Havasu that day!)he was a great sport with all of it!!
