Week 19 - Ever since our first doctor appointment they told us that Oct. 5th (this Friday) would be the day that we would have the ultra sound in which they will be able to tell the sex of the baby. We've been counting down and now here we are only 2 days away! It's SO exciting! I don't think either of us care if it's a boy or a girl all that much, we merely want a healthy baby to love.
However, we still have our guesses (it makes it fun). I have to say that Rob must be guessing a boy considering he's been calling our little peanut "Lil Robbie" since day 1. The other day I called it "Robette" just to annoy him. The expression on his face was hilarious! :)
Everyone says I should have a feeling one way or another as to the sex and I really don't. I haven't had any sort of dreams as far as a baby boy or girl. However, after all the research I've done on old tales and after performing the Chinese calendar . . . I have to officially make my guess on the sex to be a girl. I feel like my bump is merely that . . . . a bump out in front vs. wide spread - which has historically meant girl and the heartbeat has been more in the girl range (250) last time we were at the doc's. That and a few other things (there's a quiz on babyzone.com that I took) lead me to make my guess to be a girl. However, I won't be disappointed either way. The main thing I want to hear is that Baby R is doing well and all is on track. We had a blood test last time which was a screen for down syndrom . . . and haven't heard the results. It will be a nice relief to hear that we're in the low risk for that as well.
So, wish us luck on Friday! I'll be sure to post the BIG news before I go out buying trains or baby dolls! :)
