Rob's 1st Father's Day!

There's nothing more appropriate on Rob's 1st Father's Day than RJ going boatin' with his Daddy! Rob loves the river, the lake, and the outdoors in general and can't wait to one day share God's beauty in nature with RJ. This is what made yesterday the PERFECT 1st Father's Day! Here are the details from the action packed weekend . . .
Rob's family (brother, sister, niece and mom) was in town and on Saturday RJ's Oma watched him while the rest of the crowd headed out on the boat to what we've trademarked as "Jim's Cove!" This is the most picturesque cove on the Colorado River where we spread Rob's Dad Jim's ashes about 2 and half years ago (sorry I do not have pictures . . . forgot my camera that day - but take my word - it's stunningly beautiful). This is the area of the river where Rob and his Dad used to launch canoes when he was a boy scout and canoe the Colorado River . . . .thus a very appropriate final resting place for his Dad. Ever since we spread the ashes, we have coined the cove "Jim's Cove" and have taken lots of friends there while boating and spread the word on this wonderful place. We've even heard folks that we didn't know calling it "Jim's Cove" although this is not it's official name . . . so I guess the PR worked . . . sorta funny! So, there was nothing more appropriate than to hang out there in honor of RJ's Grandaddy Jim on Saturday of Father's Day weekend! So, here's to Jim Robinson . . .I'm totally bummed that RJ and I never had the chance to meet you, but we've heard such wonderful things and RJ is honored to be named after you!

On Sunday, RJ and I took the car over to the Channel of Lake Havasu and met the rest of the crew that had boated down the lake . . . it was about 115 degrees so I was a little concerned, but brought a couple of the hospital receiving blankets and we dipped them in the lake and wrapped them around him . . . it worked really well and even cooled me off (thanks for this wonderful tip Mrs. Amber!)! RJ got in the lake for the 1st time with his Daddy. It was down right precious . . . I took some irresistible photos (see above)! Rob is SO good with him . . . he's THE best Daddy in the world! He's ALWAYS looking out for the both of us and puts us first in everything he does. We could not have asked the dear Lord for a better Daddy and are thankful beyond belief for Rob! We particularly love it when he performs some of our favorite Little Einstein toy numbers (with the RJ Robinson words to the songs!)! We love him with everything we have! So, Happy 1st Father's Day Rob . . . we can't wait to share many more memories and many more Father's Days with you! You are THE best Da Da!
