RJ Update & Happy 2009!

Happy 2009 to everyone! We wish you all the best! 2009 will certainly prove to be a wonderful year of ups and downs for all of us and we look forward to it! 1st and foremost on our list of ups, we look forward to finally moving into our new house and then to RJ's 1st birthday (and no more nursing)! We can hardly believe we are even thinking about our little guy's 1st birthday! The time has gone so fast! Well you know what they say . .. time flies when you're having fun and if I were to use one work to describe RJ, fun would be it!

The latest thing with the little guy is clapping and dancing to any and all music. Also, his favorite thing to do is play chase/hide and seek (we crawl around after him saying "I'm gonna get you" and he takes off like a wild man crackin' up!) He's also very ready for walking physically and has been for a while, but seems to really have no interest since he is an expert (and lighting speed fast) crawler! He won't even practice walking because the pace is MUCH too slow for him. He stands by himself lots, walks with the Lion walker toy (fast I may add), but for the most part if he wants to get somewhere he plops down on his bottom and is off before you even caught a glimpse of him! We've not encouraged walking much because you hear different things about whether or not it's good for them to walk early, so we've decided to let it happen on it's own. Wow - what else . . . lots of talking and lots of laughing . . . he just cracks up out of nowhere for who knows what reasons a lot of times - it's hilarious! He's also been drummin' a lot on everything . . . with and without his Daddy (oh boy)! He just loves to see either of us walk in the room and won't leave us alone 'til we pick him up and give him love . .. speaking of, he's been giving lots of hugs lately which is sorta new I guess. He's just THE sweetest natured little guy you'll ever meet (well unless he wants something that you won't let him have - hee!)! Yes, he knows the word "no" but sure doesn't like it (may take after his Mom here)! He totally tests us constantly on this one!

Humm . . . what else . . . oh I taught him a couple weeks back how to flip a light switch on and off (I was highly impressed). . . we do it together every morning and we sing good morning to the cats as well as the lion toy! :) He also loves books if you can get him to sit still. . . particularly books with animals . . . he cracks up at them! Lots of conversations are going on, but we can still only make out MaMa and DaDa and maybe Hi! We just talk back to him as if we completely understand what he's saying.
