RJ went for his first of many ventures to the Grand Canyon yesterday and loved it!! The rim was a little windy (as usual), but we kept him nice and bundled up. Only in Arizona can you have 90+ degree weather in one area (our house), drive 3 hours and be in 50 degree weather (burr)!! It was good though . . . gave RJ a reason to wear some of his heavier clothes. Havasu has been so warm since he's been born, that he's been wearing a lot of "onesies" and short outfits. This allowed him to show off his cute jeans, pants and jacket!!
RJ did a fantastic job considering this adventure lasted from early morning 'til almost 11pm at night (only minimal crying on the way back, which was great considering the horrible gas and belly aches he had all week). What can I say besides it's nice to have a baby that enjoys sleeping while driving! :)
We had an awesome surprise on this adventure . . . we were able to meet up for lunch on the rim with our good friends Shalini and Maulin Sutaria from Louisville (small world)!! Who would have thought that would be the place that the ended up meeting RJ?!!? Shalini has been working in Phoenix for several weeks now and their anniversary was April 1st, so Maulin came out here to join her and they were visiting the Canyon as well as Sedona . . . so we met up with them for an hour or so. It was GREAT to see them and enjoy "God's World" with them!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GUYS!!!
