RJ finally went to his 4 month appointment this morning and all is well! He weighed in at 14 pounds even and was an astonishing 25 inches! The doctor could not get over just how long are little fella was getting! She said that most babies continue to gain weight and produce rolls, but seems RJ is just stretching out (and he really still only has 1 little leg roll on each leg)!
We got the green light to begin thinking about solids, so maybe we'll start that at 5 months (I had said from the beginning I would wait until 6 months). RJ is doing so well with his schedule and feedings that I hate to mess up anything that ain't broken! :)
The only negative thing that the doctor had to say is that the back of his head on the right side is a little flat. The last thing we want is for him to have to wear one of those helmets for a flat head, so we will be making sure he is off his back (and head) as much as possible moving forward. Although I have to say I've been pretty conscious about that and we lay him on his side to sleep a lot with the body positioners and he spends a lot of time on his tummy lately! :) The doctor would like to look at it again in a month to see if it's gotten better. So we're praying that it will and that will be that!
Finally, he had his second set of shots and handled them like a champ (well better than his Mommy did for sure)! He only cried for a second (until his mommy was able to comfort him)! :)
