A Salute to Rob & His 1st Diaper Change!

It just occurred to me that I had left everyone out of the loop on a very defining moment for us . . . . last Thursday Rob and I attended the Baby Care class as the hospital and yes, FINALLY Rob is officially diaper change certified!

I was joking one day when I asked Rob if he had ever changed a diaper? I was surprised that his answer really was "No!" Oh my gosh I thought to myself . . . I'm in a world of hurt if my husband can't change a diaper! So, I was thrilled to discover this very practical class at the hospital!

Rob of course told the entire class that he really didn't need to learn to change diapers since his wife would be doing all of that (he changed the cat's litter and thought that was a fair trade). This would only be informational for him! The class was howling they thought that was so funny!! I of course rolled my eyes and let him know that certainly would not be the case. Anyway . . . I'm sure they all thought we were nuts and are writing about us as that "different" couple in their class on their pregnancy blogs! :) So, after putting all joking aside, Rob officially changed his first diaper on a doll!! You go Robbie! :) I was so proud of him!

No, actually I have to admit that it came pretty naturally to him and he was much better at the swaddling technique than I was really (humm . . guess he'll have to do all that . . . hee!). Now, I did assure him that a live, moving, crying (hopefully not too much) baby would be a much different story than a doll, but that he was pretty impressive with his "Baby Care!"

Since this is an entry focused on my fantastic groom, I wanted to take the time to let the whole world know how blessed I feel to have been given (by the Big man upstairs) a husband like Rob! He has been amazingly wonderful and perfect to me during this entire pregnancy and always! Thank you Rob! I am truly grateful!

He's so respectful and thoughtful. When he's working in CA he calls me every night to say goodnight and every morning to tell me to have a good day (and this has always been the case, not even just because of pregnancy)! Now that's nice! And I want him and everyone to know that I don't take those little things for granted. They're the best and mean SO much! These are the little things that make husband and wife such a good team (mutual respect is key)!!

And speaking of that, there isn't another person on earth that I would want to be going through this delivery with. I have such amazing confidence that my fantastic hubby will provide me with the exact support, love and encouragement that I will need to get through all the aspects of labor and delivery (and those of you who really know me . . . know Rob has his work cut out for him . . . I can really turn into a vicious animal in certain stressful/uncomfortable situations!). There's no one in this world who knows me better and I am so happy and blessed to have such a coach through this process! And, it goes without saying that I am most confident too that he will provide our family with all the support, love and encouragement we will need to go through the wonderful roller coaster of life we are about to embark upon with the addition of Baby R!

So, here it is, a toast to the most wonderful husband in the world! My RB! :)

Cheers to Rob!

A tip for Rob: always have an extra diaper in hand when you change RJ, something about the cold air will make RJ relax way too much!! If you know what i mean!

That is so sweet. I've been feeling very fortunate to have Mike too and have found myself telling him more and more lately. I'm so glad we've been blessed with wonderful men to love and support us!
