We had our 1st OB visit today where they checked my cervix and I guess it's official . . . I'm 1-2 cms dialated and 50% effaced! The doc said it looks like our little guys wants to get out before his due date possibly!
I had wondered since I had some cramping a couple of days ago and last night I was kept up a good portion of the night with nausea and diarrhea. When we got home from the appointment, Rob and I looked at our labor book under early labor 1- 3cms and sure enough - nausea, diarrhea and menstrual type cramping were symptoms. We should have known!
Rob had some crazy notion during the week that we should get out of town this weekend and do a day trip to the Grand Canyon. The doc didn't hesitate to say "no" to that request! She said I really could go into labor anytime and didn't need to be away from the hospital. Rob was bummed, but we were both very excited about the idea of an even sooner arrival of our little fella! :)
We are scheduled to attend a cancer charity dinner in town tomorrow night (that is if I can still fit into the dress) so we'll see how that goes!
Rob is scheduled to work in CA next week, but we both decided that it might be best to play it by ear and see if I have any more cramping and other symptoms (I better get more sleep tonight!).
Oh and one more update . . . lately we have been contemplating the name RJ . . . we like it very much, but Rob has had issues on and off in his life with the whole Rob Robinson thing . . . folks just can't seem to get it right a lot of times . . . they call him Rob Robertson, etc. So, with that we've been contemplating a few other names. Who the heck knows what we'll end up naming the little guy. I feel like we'll just know the right name at the time, but who knows! I have to admit, it's not an easy task to pick a name for someone . . . it's a lot of pressure . .. and there are so many things to consider. We may soon be adding a poll to the blog to get your help in the naming process. Any help you can provide we will highly appreciate! Thanks and we'll keep you updated! Not too long now!
Oh and by the way . . . instead of a super bowl grid, we were thinking of creating a betting game to see who can guess the dates my fellow pink lady friends and I will have our little bambinos!! We are all dialated and effaced . . . may the best pink lady get to the finish line 1st (or last depending on how ya think about it)!! It would be hilarious if we all ended up laboring at the same time (well all on Feb 19th . . . since we're pretty sure that's Dawn's date unless she labors earlier)!! The pregnant pink ladies are coming 'round the stretch . . . . . stay tuned for the finish!! :)

Woohoo!!! It's getting close.
I'm so excited for you!!!!! You know I'll be wondering every day from this point on if you've gone into labor. Looks like I'll be the last one after all. I'm so jealous of you girls!!
