This past Saturday's baby shower here in Havasu, hosted by my friend (and one day hopefully soon - next door neighbor - yes there were holes and dirt mounds on our lot Saturday - cheers to that!) Debi Ade was just PERFECT! There were about 10 gals there from work, church, Soroptimist Club and humm . . . I don't know, just folks we've met through others (many through Debi and Steve). We have been SO blessed with meeting some amazingly wonderful people in only the short year that we've lived here in Havasu! They have provided me with invaluable support throughout this pregnancy that I SO very much needed with my family so far away!
It was a champagne brunch, with the baby and I enjoying some pretty yummy sparkling cider . . . I have to admit I had never had that stuff . . . not too bad! I really enjoyed chatting with these mothers (well all except two were mothers I think) about the exciting adventure I'm about to embark on - thanks ladies for all the fun and advice!
I got some really thoughtful gifts - a crochet blanket from my friend Karen at work (who I had no idea was that talented because it is stunningly beautiful!!) and a very cool hand made turtle fleece blanket made by my friend Tina from work . . . another one that I had no idea was hiding out as Martha Stewart under her "banker skills!" Debbie (with 2 "bs") from work presented me with a "poopy" diaper with a gift card in it . . . hilarious! :) My friend Koena gave the very thoughtful gift of a photo session sitting with a very talented local photographer that specializes in pregnancy and very 'lil baby sessions! Finally, Heather, who has real horses on her ranch in Apple Valley, CA just had to get the little fella the cutest little wooden rocking horse! Way cute! Debi got me a brag book and Jerry Seinfield's Wife's cookbook - Deceptively Good For You Recipes that kids will like! These items, plus about a million terrific outfits for the little guy and about another million things that will come in useful VERY soon (including a ton of diapers which will be SO needed). . .these experienced Moms knew exactly what I still needed!
So - thank you ladies, thank you, thank you! I love you guys!
Here are some pics to above to show ya just how much fun we had! Cuz . . . . "Girls just wanna have fun!!"
